Before Covid I watched a game with friends. They’d pan the crowd (lower sections only) who were all decked out in team gear “ok what percent are employees”

America’s always had a big wide gap open for a second gridiron football league. Just ask the Arena Football League. Or the American Football League. Or the Canadian Football League. Or the World Football League. Or the US Football League. Or the United Football League. Or the Elite Football League.
I’m sure this will end well.
I still find it funny that the Baltimore CFL team won the Grey Cup in 1995 .

This is an idea that has always sounded better in theory than it has worked in practice. And, frankly, if it didn't work in a healthy economy when people were still allowed to gather in groups, how is it going to work in a depression with a ban on assembly?

The CFL really needs a 10th team badly.

If covid hadn’t hit, the XFL was doing pretty well at putting watchable football on TV. I feel like fans would have followed had they been able to finish their season and post season. I can’t wait to see how this goes. If there’s one thing The Rock and his people know how to do, it is promote and grow a brand. Let’s hope his partner can cover the rest!

There’s been some quite serious talk about putting a team in Halifax, the entire region is pretty dry when it comes to pro sports. The Event however has put quite a bit of a damper on it though, so it might not actually happen. Again.

I’m not really sure where else they’d put a team. The only major city in the country other than in the maritimes is Quebec City, and Quebec isn’t big enough into football to warrant having the Alouettes and a Quebec City team.

Setting aside COVI D, they could repeat the Stallions experiment and put a team in the US. Obviously St. Louis is open and football deprived, but you could do Portland or Hartford if you wanted something a bit closer to Canada.

True, but you still have London, Niaga ra and Wind sor, ON. They all have a metro population greater than 350,000. Saskatoon is a possibility at ~330,000.
Wild Card: Victoria, BC, with ~402,000.
Of course anything west of Ontario would mean that Winnipeg goes East.

I have optimism on this new acquisition . I feel like Vince was too busy hemorrhaging WWE’s ratings to put any effort into the XFL. I’ve got friends from college that were very good at football , but not quite good enough for the NFL. There are hardly any intermediate leagues from college to the NFL (CFL) for them to fulfill their dreams and make some money doing it. There are countless baseball, basketball, and hockey leagues that are great middle grounds, football can use one.
